Learning Objectives - In Class and from the Case-Study Activity
(a)
Identify red and white blood cells as seen under the microscope on prepared slides, and in diagrams and photomicrographs;
(b)
list the components of blood as red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma;
(c)
state the functions of blood;
• red blood cells - haemoglobin and oxygen transport;
• white blood cells - phagocytosis, antibody formation and tissue rejection;
• platelets - fibrinogen to fibrin, causing clotting;
• plasma- transport of blood cells, ions, soluble food substances, hormones, carbon dioxide, urea, vitamins, plasma proteins;

I have learnt more about how red blood cells can transport oxygen to the rest of the body. The extend of carbon monoxide poisoning depends on the concentration and amount of carbon monoxide gas taken in by the victim. The gas is extremely dangerous as it is odourless and colourless. I will remind my parents of this deadly gas while they drive.
I enjoyed the case-study as I can relate ans explain real-life scenarios now. I like to work with my friends and posting our responses is easy (we are very well-versed with blogger.com).
I would prefer Biology Teacher to allow us to post boliao comments to attack our classmates.
